Website Management & Digital Marketing
Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)
Having been optimising websites for 20 years, I have experienced the major changes in digital marketing, how the search engines have evolved to the sophisticated search tools they are now, and the advent of social media.
Search Engine Optimisation (or SEO) needs to be a key part of your online marketing strategy. Many sites don’t rank in the search results nearly as well as they could for a number of reasons:
the site has been poorly designed and doesn’t get indexed properly by the search engines
the content and how it’s structured on the site needs improvement
keyword research hasn’t been done to find out which keywords visitors will use find your website
‘meta tags’ are missing or poorly written
very few quality links point to the site
the site hasn’t been updated for a long time
the site isn't mobile friendly, is slow to load, has technical issues
there is no overall marketing strategy
Addressing these issues can go a long way to help improve a site’s visibility in the search engines and the visitors it attracts. Don’t forget most traffic to websites still comes from the search engines so this is one area you can’t afford to neglect. Measuring visits to your website is also very important. Keeping an eye on your site’s performance and tracking visits will go a long way to knowing how visitors interact with your site and where improvements can be made.
Having worked with many different Content Management Systems (CMS) over the years including WordPress, Drupal, Joomla, Wix, Shopify and bespoke systems amongst others, I can help you manage your site. From adding new optimised content to creating a content plan, updating existing content, managing e-commerce websites, orders and helping to drive new visits to your website.
I can also help with basic social media campaigns such as setting up accounts, writing and scheduling posts, replying to any queries and comments from followers. I can also help you set up and create regular email marketing campaigns.
