I’m Sam McArthur, a Dorset-based Virtual Assistant with a love for all things digital — and a real passion for helping small businesses run more smoothly.

 

🌱 How It All Began

My journey into the online world started back in the late 1990s, when I first went online in 1996 and was instantly fascinated by what the internet could do.

By 2000, I’d made a big career change — swapping Government defence contracts for a fast-paced role in internet marketing. It was a leap into something new and exciting, and I’ve never looked back!

💻 The Road So Far

In 2002, I launched my own consultancy.

Before that, I worked in-house for a leading job board and at a Brighton-based marketing agency, where I honed my SEO and digital marketing skills. I was lucky to work on projects for a multinational publisher, a national hotel chain, and a large charity, gaining experience that’s shaped how I work today.

✨ What I Do Now

These days, I combine my digital know-how with my love of organisation to help small business owners stay on top of things.

My Virtual Assistant services include:

• Email and customer correspondence

• Updating databases and managing websites

• Email marketing campaigns

• SEO support

• Basic bookkeeping (qualified since 2021)

I also speak French — not something I get to use every day, but you never know when it might come in handy! 🇫🇷

🌿 Life in Dorset

I’m lucky to call North Dorset home — surrounded by beautiful countryside between Blandford and Sherborne.

Thanks to the wonders of technology, I work with clients wherever they’re based, from the South West to across the UK.​
