I started working in internet marketing back in 2000 when my interest in the internet got the better of me. I first went online in 1996 and my thoughts about being a web designer led me into internet marketing – a big change from handling Government contracts for the defence sector!
I started my own consultancy, Forty First, in 2002 after working in house for a leading job board and then for an internet marketing agency in Brighton where I honed my SEO skills with projects for a multinational publisher, a national hotel chain and a large charity. I also speak fluent French and have more recently worked with a Paris based marketing agency.
My belief has always been that the principles of online marketing have never changed: creating a high-quality website and using best practice marketing techniques for long term, sustainable results.
Being a small business myself, I understand that many businesses need to stretch often small budgets that much further. I strive to give value for money to my clients and introduce them to the many low cost tools available to small businesses. Marketing doesn't have to cost a fortune!
What My Clients Say...
"I have known and worked with Sam McArthur for over 10 years now for all SEO & digital marketing projects and ongoing work. She has been a breath of fresh air throughout – you tell her what you need, she tells you what can be achieved for the budget and she gets right to work. I have had amazing success with Sam’s help and in dealing with the minefield that is SEO. It has saved me so much time and money and I can get just get on with doing the work that I actually understand and enjoy. Sam understands the design element of a website, she gets the e-commerce side of a business and she is always on point about the latest developments that Google and all the other tech companies are doing. She manages to abstract and distil this in plain English and tailored to the industry you are in. This is something that is invaluable."
